The IVY Path

The IVY Path

The IVY Path is our proprietary curriculum thoughtfully designed to provide a strong academic foundation while nurturing the whole child. Rooted in Montessori and HighScope principles, our curriculum is enriched by our dedicated subject teachers who specialize in music, dance, movement, art, and Spanish as a second language. We have also incorporated Chess and Piano into our program to help develop critical thinking, concentration, creativity, and a well-rounded learner.

At the core of the IVY Path are our primary academic focus areas: Math, Literacy, Science, Social–Emotional Learning, Geography, Art, and Spanish. Each lesson is intentionally crafted to build age-appropriate skills, foster curiosity, and encourage independence. Our subject teachers collaborate closely with classroom teachers to create a dynamic, integrated learning experience that brings each discipline to life through hands-on activities, rich language exposure, creative expression, and meaningful real-world connections.

Most importantly, the IVY Path allows instruction to be thoughtfully tailored to each child’s developmental stage and learning style—ensuring that every student receives a high-quality, well-rounded education that prepares them for lifelong success.

Teacher and Student Engagement

At Ivy Primary Prep, we value student and teacher engagement as a crucial component of fostering an academically challenging environment. We are able to showcase our core value by maintaining small classroom sizes with a student-teacher ratio of 5:1. Each classroom is capped at 10 students with 2 teachers at any given time. Maintaining small class sizes allows our teachers to monitor each student’s development and customize instruction based on their learning abilities. Engaged teachers create engaged and successful students. We are committed to supporting and funding continuous teacher development. Our teachers enjoy creative freedom and take pride in our proprietary curriculum and lesson planning. In our classrooms, teachers group students at similar skill levels and ensure our Little Ivies stay engaged by tailoring instruction based on their learning styles.

Focus on Developing Students

Focus on Developing Students

At Ivy Primary Prep we focus on development of the whole student by emphasizing a curriculum that includes physical, social, and emotional components. Our lesson plans revolve around interactive learning where our students are challenged with hands-on, project-based instruction to help develop skills and intrigue their curious minds. We focus on developing skills at an early age, which can later help with their independence and self-confidence. Our teachers monitor their students’ learning capacity to help them achieve maximum academic success.

Individualized instruction

An important factor about our preschool is the quality of instruction your child will receive. There are eight learning styles which our teachers work hard to accommodate in every classroom. Whether a Little Ivy is a visual, creative, or logical learner, teachers are able to engage the students with appropriate activities suitable for their learning style. Parents are informed all along the Ivy Path of their Little Ivy and kept in the know via a digital app, continual open communications, and parent/teacher reviews that occur quarterly.
